A variety of thought is analyzed in divergent thinking. People tend to think in a divergent manner when thinking creatively. They are involved, thus, in varied thoughts. Divergent thinking also includes autistic thinking and some convergent thinking. It is expected that intelligence must have high relationship with creative thinking. But Getzels and Jackson (1962) have revealed that only a low correlation was there as measured by conventional intelligence tests. According to Crockenburg (1972), persons low in intelligence is often also low in creativity, but high intelligence is no guarantee of creativity.
