Wood Powered Motorcycle

From time to time, we stumbled upon a technology that we all sort of forgotten about. Take as an example this specific Ural motorcycle, which is powered by a substance known as wood gas. Wood gas will be the side product of partial combustion of carbon products such as wood. The gas passes through a process known as gasification in a wood-gas generator to provide combustible hydrogen and carbon monoxide. That means you're burning up wood to generate fuel. Top speed of this motorcycle is approximately 50 miles per hour, while it burns a sack of wood for 60 miles.

Cigarette Addicted Turtle

Reported by Chinese media, in a town on the borders of Changchun exists a nicotine-addicted turtle that smokes about 10 cigarettes each day. The turtle's owner claims that every time it feels the need for a smoking, the reptile becomes upset and begins to hiss. So how does a turtle end up hooked on smoking cigarettes? It all started when Tang the owner, attempted to take out a chicken bone out of turtles abdomen. After receiving a razor-sharp bite he stuffed a cigarette he has been smoking into its jaws. His strategy turned out successful because he was able to get rid of the chicken bone, but he couldn't imagine that this might result in an even bigger issue.

Bizarre Future Cars: Five Odd Ball Concepts

Flying cars without a carbon footprint may be a long way off, but that doesn't stop the industry's leading designers from having a ton of fun creating concepts. Many car enthusiasts thrive on previewing the future of the industry at car shows, but some concept cars seem to take the term "futuristic" to new extremes.

KASSOU
According to the Car Design News Contest website, the Kassou design, a second place award-winner in Car Design News Contest 2008's professional category, consists of a small pod sitting on three wheels. It's kind of like the Smart Car's evil twin—if it had a long neck and bat wings. According to Design Buzz, the single bench seat, similar to that of a motorcycle, is accessed through the rear split doors while the glass cockpit hood hinges forward to increase accessibility. A flexible rubber neck extends sky-high to accommodate taller passengers or contracts downward for better aerodynamics while an optional sidecar holds luggage. The extendable wings resemble those of a bat, rendering this sleek design more suitable for Batman than the average driver.

ERINGO
The 2009 eRinGo concept, an electric ring-shaped car, looks more like a beer keg than a vehicle. According to Wired, the large wheel straddles the center and is flanked on either side by slightly smaller wheels for balance and turns. Inside the car, a rotor/gyro system maintains balance on the single wheel. This two-seater contains two steering wheels so either person may drive, suggesting that the designer has never been married.

PEUGEOT GLOBULE
According to Top gear's website, this shape-shifting design debuted in 2009 with four individual spheres that are powered separately by electric motors. The spheres share a central battery and can rearrange their alignment to fit the driving space available. A flexible polymer covering keeps the modules contained. For instance, a 2x2 formation mimics a traditional sedan. When entering a narrow space, the spheres shift into a single line. When parking in a tiny space, as small as 4.5 feet on a side, the spheres stack upward so that only the driver's sphere touches the ground.

OPEL FLOW
According to automotive.com, GM has been contemplating if it's worth it to keep their European branch Opel alive. Though sales have increased, it is teetering dangerously close to bankruptcy. In 2010 the brand introduced a zero-emission electric car, intended for release in 2049. The Flow harnesses solar energy for its single passenger, as expressed in the concepts creator, Miika Heikkinen's, blog. It is designed for city streets, and when not being driven, it integrates into the proposed infrastructure to recharge batteries and offer a resting place. With clear solar panels on either side of an irregularly-shaped frame, it looks like a deformed egg standing on end. Will the brand make it to see the birth of this futuristic vehicle? Time will tell.

PEUGEOT MOOVIE
According to Car and Driver this car is supposed to give insight into what the future of city cars may look like. This 2005 electric two-seater rotates on its own axis, which translates into turning donuts on a dime in city driving. Two large wheels function as sliding passenger doors and tilt inward slightly for stability, while the two small front wheels provide support.

The most known deadly and bizarre hazards on a construction site

Despite the fact that a lot of legal regulations have been made regarding the construction site safety many accidents still tend to happen annually. A great number of people become disabled and sustain serious injuries some of them unfortunately even lose their lives. That is why all of the employers are obliged to provide the best working conditions and fulfill all of the safety requirements on the construction sites. We are going to talk about those hazards that are very lethal and how to prevent them from happening.
Chemical
Numerous chemical fumes can cause serious health problems. The employer is obliged to take some steps in order to make the working area clear of the poisonous fumes. Some of the steps may be supplying his workers with breathing apparatus. Another way is finding proper filter that would filtrate the polluted air. Any of form of protection will mean a lot for your employees and have in mind that it is your obligation to make that protection possible for them.

10 Awesome and Bizarre Examples of Street Art

You don't have to go to a world-famous art gallery to see some examples of some amazing artwork. Walk through the tunnels or streets of any major city in the world, and you are likely to see a random sampling of some truly amazing art by some talented but underappreciated artists working in the shadows.

Here are just 10 examples of some awesome and bizarre examples of street art from around the world:

Eduardo Relero created this piece, entitled "Philosophical Drift," in Arles, France. Just try walking across this floor without feeling like you will fall through!

The artist Iemza created this untitled piece in Reims, France. The haunting face turns a blighted building into a moving piece of art.

You can find art in even the most unexpected places. An unknown artist created this not-so-inviting toilet in a public location in Germany. Imagine sitting down to this!

Art allows us to free ourselves. This sculpture created by Zenos Frudakis explores that concept a bit more literally.

Artists Jurgen and Katja von Hof give passersby a glimpse into what life might be like in one home in Germany.

This sculpture, "Long-Term Parking," uses over 60 automobiles and over 40,000 pounds of concrete. It stands 60 feet high in Jouy-en-Josas, France.

This beautiful painting can be found on the side of a building in New York. Imagine seeing this on your morning stroll to work....

Sidewalk artists create some truly amazing images. This one from artist Eduardo Relero in Guadalajara, Mexico, seems to come to life right off the pavement.

Art and nature become one in this creation by the artist Vinchen in Columbus, Ohio. It explores the beauty and the impermanence of both nature and art.

Even an act of crafting can be revolutionary. This old Volkswagen got the yarn bomb treatment in Denmark, creating a new piece of art that's really in spirit with the original era of the car.

There are countless more examples of amazing, unique, and interesting art on streets around the world. Artists are finding ways to imbue a little beauty into the everyday or to add a little quirk to the mundane. As Jean Michele Basquiat showed the world, today's street artist can become history's celebrated artist.

Do you have any more examples of amazing or inspiring street art? Share your best finds in the comments!
