If I Had 200 Grand to Spend Online...

Let’s veer off the uber-serious side of life for a moment and think of some theoreticals for the moment. The economy’s out of whack, but we can’t let that dampen our spirits, especially during this Holiday season. Oh, did I mention that the world may end tomorrow?

Cue into an imaginary scenario where some eccentric rich billionaire throws you a bone and grants you a cool two hundred thousand dollars... with some odd conditions. He’s not going to give it to you in cash, you have to declare that you want to purchase something. You can’t purchase anything brand new; it has to be pre-owned. It has to be purchased online, to boot. Oh, and it has to be just one thing; no multiple purchases!

Faced with this odd theoretical situation, I did some browsing around, particularly into some online marketplaces. I skipped the big ones like eBay and Amazon so I would be forced to search harder and among a wider variety of sites. For fun, open an additional browser tab and do your own fantasy list of possible items while you look over my own choices:

A Japanese WWII Fighter Plane

trade-a-plane.com

A Zero! Well, a movie replica, but a pretty accurate one, and it flies! This Mitsubishi A6M2 Model 21 is a later (only slightly) model of the actual carrier-based fighter planes that were used by Japanese to attack Pearl Harbor. Posted in Trade-A-Plane, it has been repriced to a “friendly” 169.9 grand, so it fits right into your theoretical budget.
Optimus Prime in Truck Form

nexttruckonline.com

The Peterbilt 379 with a flat top sleeper is the basis of my favorite cartoon leader character’s truck transformation in the ever-exploding Michael Bay rendition of Transformers. All it needs is a repaint to resemble Prime a bit more, and I’ll probably have customized horn sounds using Optimus Prime’s voice saying, “Transform, and roll out!” Yes, I’m a dork.

Oh, and this particular unit is up for sale at NextTruck Online for around $84k+.

A Crane with a Wrecking Ball

Destroying things can be fun. As a child, the best part about playing with my LEGO bricks was the part where I wreck and disassemble them back into their basic pieces. Yeah, I liked running into other kids’ sand structures, too.

There are a bunch of cranes available at Rock & Dirt, and most of them are well within the budget. Now to find a big-ass wrecking ball...

My Very Own Oil Drilling Rig

tradequip.com

I keep seeing other people getting crazy-rich on oil. I definitely have to get in on that. Besides, pump prices just keep on going up, I might as well drill for my own oil so I can keep driving my Chevy pickup.

Oh yeah, if you want your own oil drilling rig, you can find some at Tradequip International.

So, what items have you come up with? Go ahead and post it down on the comments section, along with the prices and the places you could possibly get them from. Happy Holidays, and may the world not end tomorrow!
