People often remember the typical aspects of games. Ask even the least-casual gamer their favourite gaming characters, bosses, levels, power ups, music, etc and they’ll probably be able to give you an answer fairly quickly.
Because of the commonality of these articles online, it’s always nice to look at some of the odder or less noticed aspects of gaming out of interest. Without further to do, here is a list of eight bathroom moments in gaming you may or may not remember!
Goldeneye (Nintendo 64)
Possibly the most famous bathroom scene in gaming history. Mr. Bond starts the second level of the game, Facility, in the air vents before gaining access to the main building via the staff toilets.
Micro Machines (Various Platforms)
Micro Machines had a unique take on the racing platform by setting each track in a toy car scaled environment. Pool tables, science labs and dinner tables all featured, but who could forget racing miniature boats around the bath complete with rubber ducks, towels and soapy hazards!?
Banjo Kazooie (Nintendo 64)
The talking toilet pictured here featured in the Haunted Mansion world. Feed him a few of Kazooie’s blue eggs to get rid of a blockage and he’d reward you with a jigsaw piece.
The Sims (Various Platforms)
The Sims took the world by storm when it first game out, allowing a gamer to control every aspect of a computer generated life. Building a luxury house (complete with bathroom) was the aim of the game, however some players preferred torture and allowing their Sims to soil themselves after getting bored!
Silent Hill 2 (Various Platforms)
Silent Hill 2 involves several important bathroom tasks, including starting the game in one, fetching a code from a wallet from the toilet and a rather jumpy moment from a cubicle!
Grabbed By The Ghoulies (Xbox)
This adventure platformer typical of Rare in their heyday involved collecting Bonus Books. One in particular can be found by punching this toilet!
Duke Nukem 3D (Various Platforms)
Catching an alien whilst on the john and making toast of him made it to number 34 on Now Gamer’s top 50 video video game moments.
Half Life 2 (Various Platforms)
Half Life 2 actually included an unlockable flush achievement if you used said item to bump off an enemy!
