Extreme Product Testing for the iPad

You hear plenty of people saying “if you buy cheap, you buy twice”, which is definitely often the case, but so many of our modern electronic devices require protective covers, cases or sleeves.  You’ll probably own some yourself and will have seen them around.  Whether it’s a mobile phone case, iPad sleeve or laptop bag we often need something a little sturdy to keep our gizmos and gadgets safe from scratches, bumps and being dropped.  Check out some of these awesome testing videos I found for iPad cases – slingshots, vehicles, bowling balls… these iPads are getting a beating!
It also shows the lengths that companies will go to in order to demonstrate the brilliance of their products… I have to say that these videos impressed me!

iPad Case Testing Video 1 - The Ultimate iPad Slingshot

Maroo produce a great range of iPad cases, but what makes their case so good compared to all the others on the market? Well, seeing an iPad soar through the air from a slingshot… land… bounce and then carry on working was good enough for me to be interested. In order to look after iPads they came up with the SG Bumper Technology, kind of like a dodgem car to me, nice work Maroo! iPad Case Testing Video 2 – Running Over with a Car

This is another spectacular testing video for the iPad which is tested by the YouTube tester “SoldierKnowsBest”.  The G-FORM iPad Extreme Sleeve provides protection for the first generation iPad and the iPad 2 in the form of a lightweight and flexible sleeve.
The video starts out with some light stamping and a beating with a hammer before an impressive test which sees the iPad being run over not once but twice in a car… and it was perfect!!

iPad Case Testing Video 3 – Don’t put your iPad under a Bowling Ball

The G-FORM case is back again and this time it’s up against a 12lb bowling ball… I love how they weigh the bowling ball at the start of the video for proof! This video compares the G-FORM Extreme Sleeve against the more commonly seen hard case.  The results are pretty spectacular, needless to say there is one pretty damaged iPad! What surprised me the most is that the iPad in the hard case was still functioning after being assaulted by the bowling ball but with some pretty serious smashing and scratch. The iPad in the Extreme Sleeve was amazingly “as good as new”.



iPad Case Testing Video 4 – Dropped from Space!

The final testing video is from G-FORM again… this post has definitely taught me that G-FORM have made an art form out of product testing!!  This time they send an iPad (with camera) in a balloon to the edge of the atmosphere - 100,000 feet above the earth – and then, yes, let it fall! This could be the perfect iPad case for Buzz Lightyear.
