Must Have iPad Accessories for Entrepreneurs

The iPad is the new “it” technology gadget for 2012.  As a technology accessory for today’s working entrepreneur it is both convenient and stylish.  While the iPad does not take the place of a laptop, it does provide much of the functionality entrepreneurs need on the go in client presentations, social networking, or just working around the office.  In fact, in most cases the iPad can replace the bulky laptops that used to be carried by entrepreneurs into client meetings and social networking events.  That is, given the right tools.  Let’s take a few minutes to look at some of the essential accessories for the successful entrepreneur that makes the iPad as productive and stylish as possible.

Sena Keyboard Folio

Let’s face it, image is important.  And as far as technology gadgets go, the iPad is sexy.  But by itself, it needs a good looking case to go with it.  The Sena Keyboard Folio is both stylish and elegant, as well as practical.  The black leather finish is gorgeous and tells potential clients that you are successful and with it.  At around $150, it is not an inexpensive purchase, but good business style doesn’t come cheap.

Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit

Mobile cameras are still not quite as good as standalone cameras.  After all, single purpose camera devices make their business to be the best at that function.  For successful marketing and social media campaigns, it is still a good idea to carry a camera around with you for special photo opportunities with business partners and potential clients.  The Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit is a good bet if you need to load your pictures immediately to your Facebook or Twitter feed.  Look to spend around $30.

Zagg Apple iPad Screen Protector

As with smart phone touch pads, the iPad screen can become scratched and damaged quite easily unless some protective layer is applied to the screen.  The Zagg Apple iPad Screen Protector is a good deal at $35.

Wacom Bamboo Stylus

One of the great capabilities of all apple products is its focus on creative professionals.  The graphic design and artistic tools available on the Apple platforms are second to none, and the iPad is no exception.  The Wacom Bamboo Stylus is a great drawing stylus for quick sketches, diagrams, or just taking hand written notes.  Wacom is a trusted name in these stylus pads and the quality can’t be beat.   Look to spend around $30 for this Wacom stylus.

Apple Digital AV Adapter

The Apple Digital AV Adapter allows the entrepreneur to give their ready-made marketing pitch, product demo, or company presentation at any time given an audience and a ready AV projector.  While the iPad screen itself may suffice for one on one presentations, the small screen size quickly becomes troublesome when presenting to any group beyond just a couple of people.  If ad hoc presentations to clients are part of your marketing and sales pitch, the $40 is well worth the expense.

iHome iDM5 Executive Workstation

The iHome iDM5 Executive Workstation works like a docking station for your iPad.  It comes with two USB ports, physical speakers and keyboard.  The cost is around $130

Logitech Tablet Keyboard

The Logitech Tablet Keyboard doubles as a full sized keyboard and stand, and a carrying case.  The keyboard has multimedia capability and can work from a distance of thirty feet.  Look to spend around $70 for this combination case and keyboard.

Kensington PowerBack Battery Case

All of the multimedia and portability capabilities of the iPad are great, but the energy consumption could quickly put you in an embarrassing situation if your iPad dies halfway through an important client presentation.  The Kensington PowerBack Battery Case can add a full five hours of additional life to your iPad, and for $80, it is well worth the expense if you plan on using your iPad on the go for potentially several hours at a time.

  1. I am looking to get a new iPad case, and I heard of a new company called Domeo Products that just launched. I checked out their website at domeoproducts.com and it looks like they have some awesome cases. I was wondering if you have heard of them and what you thought of them?
