Compared with computers, smartphones on the market cannot be upgraded once you purchase them. You are not able to make it run faster, boost its storage space or maybe try out a much better camera for taking photos. The only real solution is usually to purchase a latest smartphone, and your old phone generally ends up in trash can. To minimize this wastage, designer Dave Hakkens is promoting a concept smartphone with upgradable and removable components. Named the "Phoneblok", it includes a base that can be connected with different components for instance mobile antennas, battery packs, processors, cameras and displays.
