We
all had the opportunity to play with puzzles that have loads of
pieces and it is fun to put them all in place, and get the big
picture. It is not only a fun activity, but an exercise of the brain
as well. But, in this article, I will not talk about puzzles; I will
talk about a form of art that is familiar to using small pieces of
material to make something marvelous and that is mosaic art. It has
been present in human civilization throughout history, and there are
some mosaic looking constructions that have survived centuries, some
have even managed to remain almost intact for more than a millennium.
When
making a mosaic, an artist has the component parts of the mosaic, and
the idea of what he or she will make, and by aligning the pieces
together, a beautiful construction appears. Some of the most
beautiful mosaics can be seen on windows of some churches. If you
haven’t seen one up front, you have most probably seen it on movies
– those windows made out of differently colored pieces of glass.
There are also other forms of mosaic art. For more insight on the
matter, follow the link below and prepare to be amazed.
In
this article, I will not talk about these world famous mosaics, but I
will focus on how to incorporate this kind of art in your own
household and, thus, make it look more beautiful. You can always take
the easy road and purchase an already finished mosaic, but you can
also explore your creativity, and create your own construction. It
can be a fun activity for the entire family. You should do some
research on the matter before going into the process, of course. You
can end up with an excellent mosaic picture that you can, for
example, hang on your wall. You can also make a small mosaic
construction on the wall directly, but make sure that you do this
without inflicting any damage on the wall surface.
Speaking
of wall surfaces, there are places in your household that are perfect
for a mosaic construction. These are, believe it or not, your
bathroom and your kitchen. Why? Well, this is because there are ways
to make the whole tilling process that is done in these rooms, for
practical reasons like avoiding moist as well as oil and food
splashes on walls, use the concept of mosaic art to make both your
bathroom and your kitchen a piece of art in whole. Tilling is nothing
else than aligning smaller pieces of material into a big
construction, so why not put some thought and a little effort in
adding a dose of creativity to the process. Actually, mosaic tilling
is a thing, and there are businesses and companies that will do
everything for you. The only thing that you have to do is pick or
design the big picture. When designing their home, people tend to
forget about their kitchen and their bathroom designs, because they
think that they spend not that much time there. But think, when you
wake up, you go to the bathroom to freshen up, and then you go to the
kitchen to make breakfast. After that, you return to the bathroom to
wash your hands, and just then, you start your day. If you take into
account the fact that some studies have shown that people who have
had their home designed just the way they like it, cope with
everything that they encounter with more ease, and if you make the
first places you visit when you wake up be more beautiful, you will
be able to face your new day with a clearer head.
In
the end, I will give you a piece of advice that I think you should
listen to. Make sure that your mosaic tiles are installed by a
professional hand. There are loads of things that can go wrong, and I
advise you not to meddle in the process, if you are not a
professional yourself, of course. Sometimes it is better to invest a
little in the beginning, than to be forced to pay a fortune to repair
the damage you have done because you wanted to “be a hero”, isn’t
it?
