Final List of Nominees: Best Cross-Platform Games of 2012

The year 2012 was an amazing year for gamers as we witnessed the launch of some really engaging gaming titles and were exposed to a couple of new consoles in the market. Though a few releases disappointed us, there were a few that really amazed us. So here’s a list of such titles that managed to make a mark and claim a spot in the Best Games of the Year 2012. Note that we are considering the titles that offered equal levels of excitement, regardless of the console or the device.

Dishonored:
Dishonored is probably one of the best games to roll out this year. The game boasted of a gripping storyline of resurrection where an honest bodyguard sets out on a mission to prove his innocence and retain his honor. Apart from the appealing graphics and the details given to the sound, the game rocked in the gameplay front. Based on stealth style combat system, the game was very impressive in the way things shaped up depending upon the gamer’s in-game actions. With much respect, we include Dishonored to the list of Besties of 2012.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted:
Electronic Arts’ Need for Speed Most Wanted has truly become one of the most wanted games of 2012 due to its comprehensive console-support. The game is available on the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, PS VITA, iOS, Android and truly offers optimum excitement. The franchise known for its epic racing sequences and cop chases, in this one, offers a gameplay that allows the players to carve their own path to become the most wanted. It offers the players the freedom to drive anywhere, uncover secret game modes, go one-on-one against the rivals or just play around with the cops. Whichever way you play it and on whichever platform you play it, the game will deliver what the title is known for. With impressive graphics, gameplay and lineup of cars, NFS Most Wanted arrives to the best games of the year list.

Mass Effect 3:
Mass Effect 3 rolled out as a concluding installment of one of the epic trilogies ever. The story revolves around Captain Shepherd, who sets out on a mission to save the universe from the massacre of an ancient alien race known as the Reapers. The game provides a visual treat with its vivid representation of the universe and environments and at the same time disappoints us. It disappoints us with the fact that the trilogy has come to an end. For those of you who haven’t played it, it is highly recommended that you get your hands on with it. Available for PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U, the game deservingly makes its way to the list of best games of the year.

FIFA 2013:
EA Sport’s football outing never seems to disappoint. Every time you play this sequential title, the game incorporates incremented levels of realism. And this year, it has gone a step further and truly offers the feel of an actual football game. It boasts of features like unpredictable ball positioning and some major tweaks in the defensive and the offensive front. The game heats up the fight for possession with its revamped gameplay and maintains the true spirit of the game. This makes us include FIFA 2013 to the list of best games of the year. It’s available on the Nintendo 3DS, Wii, Xbox 360, PC, iOS, PSP, VITA, Android and PS3. Truly versatile!
So, these were some of the best cross platform games for the year 2012. With more exciting games lined up for the year 2013, let’s just anticipate how the list of 2013 shapes up. So, will 2013 be another year of title Sequels and trilogy conclusions or does it have something else in store for us? Let’s wait and find out same time, next year!
