We frequently hear the stories of animal attacks across the world, but it even becomes bigger news when the animal goes after a celebrity. Let's take a look at the top five celebrities attacked by unique exotic animals.
5. Gordon Ramsay vs. a Puffin
While hunting the exotic bird back in 2008 for an episode of his show “The F Word,” a puffin bit Ramsay. The 45-year-old celebrity chef needed three stitches on his nose because of it. However, he was too puffed up with pride to admit the details of the attack. He went so far as to claim that one of his children caused the injury to avoid sharing the real story.
4. Shakira vs. a Sea Lion
Shakira hypnotized a sea lion with her shiny BlackBerry earlier this year in South Africa, but the mammal mistook the shine for a fish and attacked. When the sea lion leapt out of the water toward the 35-year-old singer, she fell back on the rocks in shock – and thankfully only suffered a grazed hand before she was rescued by her brother. The Columbian songstress was shaken up, but she shared the story with her fans via Facebook.
3. Ryan Seacrest vs. a Shark
Back in 2008, the 37-year-old "American Idol" host was communing with marine life in the Pacific Ocean. He was swimming near Mexico when he felt a shark swim past him. The shark nibbled on his toe before swimming off – leaving Seacrest to recover with the help of a few painkillers.
2. Paris Hilton vs. a Kinkajou
The blonde heiress is known for many things – one of which is collecting unusual animals, including pigs, possums, and even a goat. But it was her pet kinkajou, “Baby Luv” that landed the “Simple Life” star in the hospital back in 2006, after it went berserk and bit her leg. Still, the 31-year-old socialite refused to put the animal down, telling Jimmy Kimmel, “I don't care if it has rabies or not!”
1. Fabio vs. a Goose
Italian cover boy Fabio Lanzoni was romanced on a rollercoaster back in 1999 by an obsessed feathered fan flew right into his face. A goose collided with Fabio’s model mug when the rollercoaster soared over a pond at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg. A video of the incident shows the 50-something Fabio sporting a bloody nose and shocked expression.
Are celebrities more reckless than the rest of us when it comes to animal encounters?
