A concept car or truck is a prototype vehicle displayed by a car manufacturer, usually at auto shows. These are test runs of vehicles they intend to eventually make available to the public, usually featuring new technology or styling. Many of concept trucks never make it to production, and those that do usually end up being different from their concept versions. Most concept vehicles take a model of car or truck that is already being produced and soup it up, adding larger and more powerful engines. Additionally, many concept trucks feature specialty interiors and exterior trim kits to make them stand out visually. Several auto makers have recently produced concept trucks, and here are some of the fastest around.
Ram 1500 R/T "Terramoto" Street Truck

Designed by Fastlane, this concept truck has a 5.7-liter Hemi engine with 500 horsepower. Named Terramoto, which is Spanish for "earthquake," this truck will sound like one because of its custom dual exhaust. The goal of the Fastlane team, when developing the vehicle, was to create a truck that could compete not only with other trucks in speed but also cars. In addition to an incredibly powerful engine, the pickup also features a custom interior, Assanti wheels and a lowering kit. The vehicle is based on the 2011 Ram 1500 Sport which includes a regular cab and 6' 4" bed.
Jeep Traildozer

This concept truck was built by Jeep and American Expedition Vehicle, and it was based on the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The partnership made huge changes to the engine, adding massive amounts of power and speed to the vehicle. The engine was upgraded to a massive 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine that boasts 470 horsepower. In addition to the engine modifications, the Trailerdozer also saw some cosmetic changes. Off road protection was added with new front and rear bumpers that include rear corner guards, a heat reduction hood and a half door kit, all by Mopar. Minimal modifications were made to the interior of the vehicle, but they included leather seats and Mopar floor mats.
GMC Sierra All Terrain HD

Based on the 2011 Sierra HD, this four door truck is truly massive. Going from the already large specs of its base, the Sierra All Terrain HD is four inches wider making it a total of 73 inches across; it also has four additional inches of ground clearance. Off road shocks, by Fox, have been added along with 35-inch BFGoodrich KM2 mud terrain tires, giving the truck the "all terrain" part of its name. The largest changes in the vehicle were actually made to the body of the truck; since the original Sierra HD already had a powerful engine there was little need. That said, the Sierra All Terrain boasts a 397 horsepower 6.6-liter Duramax diesel V8 engine. In addition to the powerful engine and the off road capability of the truck, the interior has been redone and includes a leather dash along with a cutting edge stereo system and an 80 gigabyte hard drive.
