Cloud Making, Possible Solution To Global Warming?

Professors John Latham and Stephen Salter propose a radical idea to save us from disastrous climate change. A fleet of yachts would pump fine particles of sea-water into clouds, thickening them to reflect more of the sun's rays.

  1. So the salt water thickens the clouds, but doesn't cause rain. But eventually, won't those clouds grow enough to drop rain? And won't the salt fall in the rain? If so, what will that salt water do to terrestrial plants?

I'm guessing these people are smart enough to take that into account, but I'd love to hear their answer.
