All the people saying that they're dumb have no sense of creativity. Just because you don't need it doesn't mean it's not cool. I, for one, am intrigued.
Come on now people The person saying they're shopped is just saying it to be saying it he used the exact phrase that everyone else uses when they're being sarcastic or some such...
By the way they're pretty sweet I'd love to have them The only one I'm not sure of is pride...
It's amazing how some people can't appreciate a little creativity or craftsmanship. I'm an an artist and i know what a vast amount of time and effort went into making these. To whoever said "to actually manufacture, publicize and sell this product is outrageous, because the practicality of these glasses in reality is so little" is a complete moron, because these are obviously not made for the masses, and there is probably only one hand made set to begin with. Use your brain. And another thing, they're obviously photoshopped, if you knew anything about advertising or art you would know that practically everything is photoshopped. So in the future, actually think about what you're going to say before you just blurt out whatever stupid rant comes to the top of your skull. These are beautiful by the way, if I had some money and a place to put them, I would buy a set. Thanks.
I was drinking out of these glasses and my mom got scared And said, "You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air."I whistled for a cab and when it came near The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror If anything I could say that this cab was rare But I thought, "Nah, forget it. Yo home to Bel-Air!" I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8and I yelled to the cabby yo holmes smell ya later Looked at my kingdom I was finally there To sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-Air.
The lust one looks like it has a ball stoppering up the bottom of it, like the ball in a hamster's water bottle. In order to get wine out of it, the drinker would have to lick and push at the ball with her tongue, which I would suppose might look hot to a guy standing over her.
I think the main purpose of buying these is to display them, not to actually drink out of them. But, I could be wrong. I know I wouldn't drink out of them.
very nice piece pride is my favorite. tall glass represents the persons feeling of superiority over others...and for all of those who left negative comments...please just keep it to yourselves, your just trying to annoy people.
These are amazing pieces. Kudos to the artist. I think what most of you fail to realize is that these glasses are probably purely for display and not for use.
I'm pretty sure these are completely useless for really using. And if you buy them to show people, no one will understand why the hell you bought them or care.
These are a beautiful work of art and imagination. I can't help noticing that the persons objecting to them seem stuck on the idea of them actually being glasses you use physically instead of simply admiring conceptually.
Consider Envy: the holes make the wine (which the drinker desires) unaccessible and messy if you try--obviously not intended for actual drinking.
Gluttony, on the other hand is an entirely useful glass whose lopsided, bulbous form is reminiscent of the shape imbued by over-consumption. It is hard to judge the size of this glass in the photos, but it appears to be almost as large as the head of the man drinking.
Lust is a glass built for two (at least). One can support the vessel from the attached chain while admiring the oral gymnastics required of his/her partner(s) to work the ball-stopper and gain access to the wine.
Wrath makes an admirable commentary on its name-sake by being both a potential weapon and source of self-injury should one drink thereof.
Sloth, of course, allows one to do no work to gain its prize, but imagine the ensuing mess.
Pride makes the bold imposition of its presence through sheer size. Like the real thing, it is awkward and difficult to manage.
Greed, true to its nature, always tries to hold some back for itself. Skimming a little off the top (or sides in this case) makes the intended process inefficient.
These glasses, I think, were made to be admired and considered, not drunk from. The photography provided merely illustrates the concepts around which their design was formed.
Is it any surprise a lot of people think they're stupid? What sort of people are these aimed at? A very small group, that's who. It logically follows that if you're not in that group (i.e. the vast majority of people) you probably won't like them much.
Seems to me that that concept is so simple and obvious that if you complain and gripe at people who don't like a set of weird glasses they've never seen the like of before, assuming that this single aspect makes them stupid and unimaginative, then you're not the sharpest knife in the drawer yourself.
ppl are stuid there not shopped for one go to the guys site and you can see other stuff he has done he made these as a request for a friend and they are not made to drink from just for display and conversation
and if you know anything about the 7 deadly sins you can see how each one applys to the sin it is asigned
envy of corse is wanting what you cant have in this case the wine that is the cause for the holes and greed is the appearance of there never being an end or not haveing enugh wine and sloth is like a morphine drip being to lazy to tip the glass ones self you see???
all in all they are at the very least great peaces of art
It is meant to be art. It is really creative. Some of the people calling them useless, it is pretty damn obvious they aren't intended to be used for drinking purposes. It amazes me how many people are so damn close minded and ignorant.
Well haven't we commited one of these 7 sins at one point of time in our lives of another? I believe Pride is the most common. Sloth is one which we overlook heaps but thats because we don't realise what it means...to be uncaring or have the absence of care.
wow nice one^^ where to get em?
ReplyDeletebeautiful
ReplyDeleteumm, really stupid?
ReplyDeletedon't really get it!?
ReplyDeletethats pretty cool. not really effective, but a nice conversation piece. i would love to have those displayed on my mini bar.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving them.
ReplyDeleteAll the people saying that they're dumb have no sense of creativity. Just because you don't need it doesn't mean it's not cool. I, for one, am intrigued.
ReplyDeleteVery cool, hats off to the designer. Can they purchased somewhere. I'd love two sets
ReplyDeleteSome messages are clearer than others, but overall it's pretty neat. My favorite (and the one that seemed most compelling) is Pride.

ReplyDeleteCreative genius. I am absolutely fascinated by these.
ReplyDeletehahaha, love the people saying that they're rubbish. They probably just don't understand them. They're brilliant!
ReplyDeleteAwesome I love them.
ReplyDeleteThe one for Lust is hot. In a cage hot.
ReplyDeleteI find them very clever and a great addition to a 7 deadly sins party!
ReplyDeleteThese are obviously shopped. I can tell by the pixels, and by having seen a lot of shops in my time.
ReplyDeletei love all of these, especially envy...it seems to have a hint of humor
ReplyDeleteofcourse they are shopped. for presentation purposes. that does not mean that the glasses themselves are fake.
ReplyDeletepretty cool ;)
ReplyDeleteAnon Said: These are obviously shopped. I can tell by the pixels, and by having seen a lot of shops in my time.
ReplyDeleteSo.... what makes you think this is so impossible to exist? Hm? Why even bother shopping this?
you stumblers are easily pleased, these are ridiculous
ReplyDeletei could make a nice bong out of the "pride" glass
ReplyDeleteCome on now people

ReplyDeleteso I emailed the artist asking for prices... £8, 500... which comes back as being over $15,000 according to google.
ReplyDeletethey're beautiful, but that's a little too pricy. besides, they would look kitsch in my apartment ;o)

Very good ideas, I liked.

A nice set of photo's but I don't think the glasses work on their own.
ReplyDeleteStill, art is art and doesn't require a point.
