This should not be encouraged. These dogs have respiratory problems as well as others because they've been bred by humans to look "cute" in this way (there is no use in hunting or any other sport for this sort of cosmetic breeding).
That is one overbred sharpei. They are supposed to grow out of this overly wrinkly stage. They still have loose skin but they are not supposed to look like that!
This is a puppy - as the dog gets older, the wrinkles will smooth out, and by the time it's full grown, the only wrinkles will be concentrated around the face and joints.
Well stupid you should do some basic research before you say they are bred to be cute. Ancient art shows that they have been around since 206 BC so that sort of rules out the bred to be cute drivel. Either way you're stupid because towels aren't bred now are they?
Good thing "Anonymous" chose to make his/her comments anonymously to hide his/her freakin' ignorance.
Sharpeis are not bred to be "cute" - they were bred in China to be fighting dogs. The loose skin meant that if they were bitten by another dog, they would be able to twist around to continue the fight. Our family has owned 3 of them and cared for others that were rescued from dog pounds.
PLEASE - if you're going to post an opinion, at least do a little research...
OMG, you are tarded. That dog breed will not smooth out its skin as it grows. The skin grows faster than the dog, and it gets more wrinkles. The only way to care for that dog is to get an iron on LOW setting and smooth it out for him.
okaii i love that dog it is sooo cute and i sooo want 1 of them wot breed is it and i'm 13 so please don't cause a riot about my spelling okaii wot bread is it omg i thought it was a towel
To the thirteen year old, being thirteen does not exempt you from having to spell what with all of its letters. Nor does it mean it's perfectly resonable for you to spell okay so...horrendously. What you have in your post is not simple spelling errors but a deliberate rejection of standard English because you're either to lazy to care or think it's such a "cute" way to type. Both reasons are ridiculous. You have every right to type how you like, but don't excuse it with your age. At least stand up for your right to write as you like at any age.
What i think is so funny about all these comments is the one putting down the thirteen year old. 'anonymous' was trying to be all better than thou about spelling errors and ended up spelling reasonable wrong. its not spelled resonable! if you want to put someone down, make sure you don't make the same mistake they did! by the way, cute dog!
Your web site is really nice if we think the others I think you had worked about that web site, hardly. Like I see. Thank you for information tht i get.
adorable shar-pei puppy. I have always wanted one. They make such beautiful dogs. And yes, the dog does grow out of those wrinkles. They still have some as they grow but not as many.
If you use that for a towel, you're probably not the "sharpei"est knife in the drawer. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe breed please?

ReplyDeleteI agree to what anonymous(1) said, it shouldn't be like this...in our society, humans who have "unique" appearance are called freaks...
ReplyDelete@dunno: not the "sharpei"est knife in the drawer...
ReplyDeleteThink about it

ReplyDeleteSharpeis were bred to be fighting dogs, if a dog bit onto hits neck, the sharpei could still maneuver in for the kill.

ReplyDeleteHello I am a Sharpei and I have no problem breathing in my every day life.
ReplyDeleteThat is pathetic! Is this caused by global warming!

that is crazy. It almost looks like the dog is in pain due to its extra heavy looking wrinkles.
ReplyDeleteObviously photoshopped, c'mon guys its not a real dog.
ReplyDeleteImagine washing between all the wrinkles when you give this dog a bath!

ReplyDeleteLeave the thirteen year old alone. Get over yourself. Worry about yourself, not about anybody else. Cute dog! I seriously thought it was a towel! =D
