Is Pinterest The Next Fad In Los Angeles Videography?

Being in the Top 4 social networks (according to all sources) Pinterest is becoming increasingly interesting for both marketers and visitors. How can you get the most out of the Pintererest; how can you get your Videos indexed by Google?

If you know anything about SEO you know that Flash based sites and Videos are on the bottom when it comes to web site optimization. Your site won’t get 1st on Google pages and you must live with that. When it was the time for choosing between the optimization and looks you chose the looks. So what to do now and how to dominate Google or how to, at least, bounce off of the bottom of the search results?

There is a catch called Pinterest. The whole idea around Pinterest is to show the world what you found on the internet and to pin it on the virtual pin board. You can do the same thing with the Videos. By browsing the pins of other visitors you get the chance to find the good/interesting stuff on Internet.

This is where SEO companies are trying to improve the ratings of their clients. So, what do they do with Pinterest and how do they use it?

  • Giving a thoughtful description of the pinned Video is the first step to get the most out of your virtual pin board. You have space for 500 characters to describe your video. In these 500 characters you have more than enough space to explain the video using keywords and long tail keywords. Like this your video is getting indexed with Google and once the visitor click on the video he/she will be redirected to your web site.

  • Just giving a one video with one long keyword description won’t take you too far. Why not posting same video multiple times with different keywords. For example, if you have a video that should promote a Car Wash do not put Car Wash as your keyword. If you’re from Los Angeles you should say Car Wash Los Angeles + area of the city where the car wash is. Now turn that long keyword upside down few times and pin the Video several time. Each time containing slightly changed long tail keyword.

  • You can pin the Video from the Original URL Source. Every time someone re-pin your Pin the source will stay with the pin. This means no matter how many times your Video switch the pin boards you won’t lose your link, and even better the link will duplicate.

  • By sending the visitors from your Pinterest pin board, you get to know (if you use Google Analytics) how many visitors came to your web site thanks to Pinterest. Like this SEO companies get valuable information regarding the popularity of the video and they can tailor their campaigns according to those information.

  • Once the visitors decide to come to your site just because of the video pinned at Pinterest, try to give them more interesting videos. Keep them glued to your page as much as possible. Try to add videos to all pages, not just the home page. Like this they will stay around longer and they may turn into buyers.

Pinterest itself can’t skyrocket your web site to the number one place in Google searches, but if you combine it with other SEO tools you will be on the good road to get there. Good keyword research, good choice of vSEO (Video SEO) company and great videos might be a winning combination.  Making your Video viral is not that easy, but try to make the video interesting and in high quality.
